![]() They did release a soundtrack for the Robin of Sherwood series but the problem was that it was "import only" here in the US and after watching reruns of the show I finally ordered it. So, it just wouldn't be me unless I was sidetracked in some way. (Please keep reading below because I have an even better song to share). I found after listening to this album, that I much preferred their soundtrack work and more traditional sounding Irish songs to their pop songs.Ĭlannad and Bono - In A Lifetime. This is one of the few pop songs by Clannad that I really, really like plus it showcases Bono's vocal range as he hits some high notes in it. It featured some of the songs from the show but also a duet with Bono called In A Lifetime. Past Present was released in 1989 and was Clannad's Greatest Hits album. ![]() I eventually had the "a-ha" moment, ran out and got the Past Present CD. In my defense, I didn’t have access to Google or even the internet at the time, and Clannad was not a band that was being played on the radio or MTV in high rotation and it’s not exactly "club" music. I was so focused on how friggin’ hot Robin Hood was that I never did my homework about the music. Did you think that the Robin Hood Prince of Thieves writers created the Saracen character that Morgan Freeman played? Nope, this series did. Ever heard of Herne the Hunter? I hadn’t either, prior to viewing this series. Plus, they threw in some pagan elements to the mix that just really seemed to fit. The stories combined actual historic events with the Robin Hood lore. Hell, it was great! This show felt, looked and sounded authentic. Did you think the Robin Hood Prince of Thieves movie that Kevin Costner did was good? HA, ridiculous! I guess I shouldn't laugh at you, poor thing. In the UK, where it was filmed, the show’s title was Robin of Sherwood. There was this amazing show on Showtime called Robin Hood. You see, I was distracted by lust and hormones. At the time, I thought it was but then I realized I had heard Clannad plenty of times. In part one of my Enya Who? blog I stated that I had not heard a song by Clannad prior to Theme from Harry’s Game.
